What came first the Chicken or the Egg?

On our farm we started with the chickens but now our chicken start with the eggs. Before we can make healthy eggs we make healthy chickens

Now shes fed and happy our Momma Hens are ready to lay

Once a day we hand collect then had wash our eggs

Maria using a dish soap (Dawn) and bleach water mix to ensure the bacteria is cleaned off and the bloom (the protein layer of protection) is maintained.

Some eggs are sorted, placed in egg cartons or customer reusable baskets, and placed in the refrigerator to stop the gestation and keep them fresher longer.

A select few of our choosing however are keep at room temperature and then placed in the incubator.

Depending on the eggs type incubation can last from 20 days for chicken to 30 days for ducks
